Saint George (Agios Georgios) is the capital's beach. Sandy and very long (1 km) is the first choice for both swimming and staying. Although in high season, the beach is crowded, evenings are very quiet. There are many hotels to choose from, many of them are on the beach with the sea on the doorstep. Having a meal in Agios Georgios is an experience since most of the restaurants are just on the beach. So you can enjoy your meal watching the sea, or even late evening dinning on the sandy beach, just 1-2 meters from the sea, is more than idyllic. Don't miss it.

As you approach Saint George Beach from the Meteorological Station, Hotel Galini is on the right. Atmosphere is friendly and the family environment will make you feel like home. Walking further down is Nissaki Beach Hotel a complex of swimming pool, rooms and apartments. A couple metres further down is Nissaki Restaurant, a beach restaurant with delicious food. Just across the road is Hotel Glaros a hotel with its own artistic style. Now you are on the beach. Next to Glaros is one of the best restaurants in the area, Kavouri Restaurant which operates since 1955. The sea view is more than fantastic and the food is excellent. Walking now on the beach, Finikas, Beach Cafe Snack is a place to relax and combine a drink or a light meal with swimming. Just across is the warm and friendly Hotel Saint George, a family hotel with rooms and studios with superior sea view, just 10 metres from the sea. A bit further are Studios Thomais, another excellent accommodation on the beach.
